SEOUL is another pseudo-Asian font, but this time it's modeled after Korean rather than the usual Chinese or Japanese script. The basic design is contemporary, rather than brush-like. I've attempted to recreate the uniform weight and width of the Korean letters and borrows or approximates a number of actual forms.

SEOUL CAPS is the basic font. It can be used alone, or, for a more authentic "Korean" feel, with

This special font can be used to intersperse "stacked" pairs of letters, in simulation of the Korean practice of clustering letters by syllable.

There are also Alternate versions of both the CAPS and STACKING fonts that contain a different style A, I, J, M, N, O, W, Y for more creative choice.

For $5 I'll send you the set of four complete fonts in your choice of TrueType or Type 1 for Windows or for Mac.

Using the fonts together

• Set your text in SEOUL CAPS using all lowercase keys if possible. Check spelling now.
• If desired, tweak your text by substituting some of the alternate character forms from the SEOUL CAPS ALT font.
• Select adjacent letter pairs and change the font to SEOUL STACKING (or SEOUL STACKING ALT). Re-type the letters so that the first (upper letter) is uppercase, the second (lower letter) is lowercase.
  
• For example, to create the text above, you would first type seoul stacking in the CAPS font. Then select the eo, change to STACKING font, re-type letters as Eo. Repeat for each pair you choose to "stack."
• Please note that the upper-position characters (uppercase keystrokes) have a width of zero. The cursor stays in place so that when you type the lower-position character (lowercase keystroke), it aligns itself below. If you want a blank space below an upper-position letter, simply type a space.
• My sense says use no more than 2 or 3 full size CAPS in a row, and no adjacent pairs of stacked letters--too hard to read. Experiment and see what works for you.

Locating characters

In the STACKING fonts, it was necessary to find new places to locate the additional, non-alphabetic character positions. Use this chart to help yourself find them all, or consult the Character Map (Windows) or Key Caps (Mac) utility of your computer.

The upper-position numbers are in their normal keyboard positions.
The characters in red are different than the usual layout.
